Through December Glenna Olmsted is the featured artist at Harwigs’ upstairs gallery. A percentage of all proceeds from the sale of her work will go toward supporting the Steamboat Springs High School’s visual arts department.

Glenna Clark/Olmsted is a long time resident and real estate broker for 40 years in Steamboat. She’s been involved in painting and the arts since she was a young girl. Before moving to Steamboat, she lived in Crested Butte where she shared a shop selling her batik pieces. Over the years she’s painted in oil, watercolor and acrylic. She has studied with Wayan Karja in Bali, Indonesia as well as Ken Elliot and local teachers including Joan Hoffman and Mary Levingston. She’s fascinated by brilliant colors and incorporates them extensively in her paintings. She paints when traveling around the world adding diversity to her collection.

Since her passion is plein air painting, Glenna’s studio is mostly the great outdoors, however since she lives in the mountains of Colorado with long winters, she ventures out to paint whatever inspires her with her own impressionistic flair. Her work has been on display around Steamboat at Creekside Café, Center For Visual Arts, Harwigs, White Hart Gallery, Sundance Studio, Alpine Bank, The Depot and The Chief Theater and most recently, the Tread of Pioneers Museum.
