We know where you’ll be enjoying dinner, but have you planned out the rest of your stay in Colorado? Are you a local hosting visitors? Here are a few things to keep everyone entertained for their summer stay.

Here’s the Harwig’s top 5 things to see and do in Steamboat Springs.

  1. Steamboat Pro Rodeo Series

Yee Haw! What better way to experience Steamboat Springs than to immerse yourself in our western heritage? The Steamboat Rodeo takes place every Friday and Saturday night from June 16 through August 12 in Downtown Steamboat Springs. Shows begin at 7:30 p.m. Have dinner here, and enjoy a short stroll down the Core Trail across the river, and you’re right there!

  1. Check out the Hot Springs

Our little town is named after the many hot springs that surround us. Learn more about the historic springs on the Hot Springs Tours. If you’re into a more private and wilderness approach, be sure to drive up to the Strawberry Hot Springs, be cautioned, clothing is optional after dark! Looking for something ideal for the kids? Head to the Old Town Hot Springs and make a splash! Kids of all ages enjoy the thrill of their 230-foot waterslides and aquatic climbing wall.

  1. Tube the Yampa River-

Just a hop skip and a jump from us, is the Yampa River. Take time to beat the heat of the afternoon and relax in a tube as you float down the river. Hire a tubing company to drop you off and pick you up for a no-worries float.

  1. Get your picture taken at Fish Creek Falls

Just minutes from Downtown, Fish Creek Falls is a short ¼ mile walk down a gravel path to view the lower falls. Don’t forget to ask one of the friendly bystanders to snap a picture of you and your group- it’s kind of a right of passage. If you’re feeling ambitious, there is a hike up to the upper falls, don’t forget to bring some water.

  1. Go take a Hike!

No really, you should go for a walk on one of the many trails snaking all around Steamboat. You can keep it simple and stroll the Core Trail that meanders through town along the Yampa River right behind Harwigs, or you can grab your hiking boots and adventure into the Routt National Forest.

Whatever your pleasure, you’re sure to find plenty of adventure outside. After you work up an appetite, we’ll be right here!
